Baltimore Riots

  • However this sums up my thought's fairly well.

“Brett, speaking only for myself, I agree with your point that the principle of peaceful, non-violent protest and the observance of the rule of law is of utmost importance in any society. MLK, Gandhi, Mandela, and all great opposition leaders throughout history have always preached this precept. Further, it is critical that in any democracy investigation must be completed and due process must be honored before any government or police members are judged responsible.
That said, my greater source of personal concern, outrage and sympathy beyond this particular case is focused neither upon one night’s property damage nor upon the acts, but is focused rather upon the past four-decade period during which an American political elite have shipped middle class and working class jobs away from Baltimore and cities and towns around the U.S. to third-world dictatorships like China and others, plunged tens of millions of good hard-working Americans into economic devastation, and then followed that action around the nation by diminishing every American’s civil rights protections in order to control an unfairly impoverished population living under an ever-declining standard of living and suffering at the butt end of an ever-more militarized and aggressive surveillance state.
The innocent working families of all backgrounds whose lives and dreams have been cut short by excessive violence, surveillance, and other abuses of the Bill of Rights by government pay the true price, an ultimate price, and one that far exceeds the importance of any kids’ game played tonight, or ever, at Camden Yards. We need to keep in mind people are suffering and dying around the U.S., and while we are thankful no one was injured at Camden Yards, there is a far bigger picture for poor Americans in Baltimore and everywhere who don’t have jobs and are losing economic civil and legal rights, and this makes inconvenience at a ball game irrelevant in light of the needless suffering government is inflicting upon ordinary Americans.”
  • I'm not saying that riots haven't worked occasionally. What I am saying is that the ludicrous statement that peaceful protests never work is highly ignorant and completely asinine. It's just a way for a bunch of idiots to be the thieves they've always wanted to be.
Little of column A, little of column B.
  • I highly doubt that there will be any sort of legitimate revolution in the US which isn't lead by a puppet.
  • @gentlemansfury damn dude good luck! i was reading yesterday that the three most violent gangs in Baltimore are "teaming up to take out cops"

very violent country to live in right now all together. where i live in Indianapolis its just primed to go off that way. we have one of the highest rising murder rates in the country last i heard anything. and when i got robbed at gunpoint a few years ago the cops told me they had NO applicants for the first time ever for the academy, and they expected at least 25% of the force to retire over the next few years. and here we are today, all this going on all around the country. i don't go to the city anymore at all. i just stay in my little white suburb wondering how long until everything explodes.
  • Such an abstract thought, I live in Canada and my city is so incredibly far from ever rioting about anything... the last riot we had was due to the NHL playoffs, wasn't too bad. We kept it contained to one street and a bridge for the most part.

Seems like some Americans want to be the victims, like they think a riot will change their lives. I couldn't tell you what the problem with that country is, but there's definitely something fundamentally wrong with you guys :/
  • Hey! Us southerners don't riot!
  • Detroit hasn't rioted in decades!

Detroit doesn't need to riot because the criminals are in charge, Detroit police are scared to respond to most calls lol

Detroit and all of the US actually, needs more liberals pushing for gun control, so law abiding citizens have harder times getting guns to protect themselves from the criminals that get guns illegally who will never ever be effected by unconstitutional gun laws and/or to defend them selves against the abusive militarized tyrannical mob gang aka police. 8-|

The answer to Americas problems is 1776, I can see a revolution happening only if the US military soldiers and police refuse to enforce the tyrannical bullshit that they are told to do, and actually uphold their oath. this rioting is just a bunch of punk niggers(i truly believe there is a difference between niggers and dark skinned folks ;) looking for an excuse to loot and "FARM" just like the douche bags here with their "FARMING LIST" hahahaha

    Live "FREE" or die bitches!

I have seen armed militias in the US standing guard at peaceful protests protecting the protestors from the police... NO SHIT
  • Well I feel safe in my small town outside of Nashville

  • Yeah, Nashville!
  • Knoxville>Nashville
  • Knoxville was a decent place to visit but I don't know enough about it to either refute or accept your claim.
  • Same here, Knoxville is too far away. The scenery is a lot nicer over there.

This is one of the dumbest posts I've read on SK in a long, long time. I'm including Dank's ramblings, too.
  • You're right, I was just being silly. My city is too damn boring, people holding doors open for you and shit, it's fucking awful. I pray to Allah that this Friday, instead of eating greasy food after going to the bar, we can burn some cars to the ground!
  • lol Zeal, hahaha.

Barely anything happens here in the UK either. We had the "London riots" but that just consisted of lowlife scum using the death of an armed asshole at the hands of the Police as an excuse to loot. Laughed as I watched a bunch of hooded pussies break into shops down the road from my house.

I always appreciate people I never heard of earning uk dick suck points in a random thread.

As for the riots it is what is, preparation for martial law. The rich don't like poor people acting all uppity. Some Americans whole heartedly believe they are God's special people and don't know history. History is mostly just dates from events in the civil war and two world wars to them. They will be blind sided by what is coming because to them it is an impossibility. Russia faked a collapse and we went whole hog gobbling up as much as we could. It's only a matter of time before the currency goes bust. These "springs" are coming here this time to get us ready then there will be a big bonfire. Shit happens the funny part is a lot of these dumb fucks think it is God's will and proof of the end times. The bible is clearly about America, hah. I have to be around these types and they are the majority.

I don't bother with any plans we are just fucked the Mexican gangs cut off heads for sport near the border. The gangs are Islamic here and people are clueless to their allegiance. They think they are just street gangs with no logic, so mistaken. Whatever happens I just know I'm fucked and I can take comfort in that as whatever side shows up first bashes in my brains for unloading on their buddy.

Mr Dude: "Man, I wish i could get my prescription!"
Ms Dude: "Man, if only you hadn't burned down a Pharmacy. But at least you stuck it to the man."
But at least all the poor black people got free tvs? Oh I mean stuck it to the man about a guy who died in custody. Right.

    You're so simple-minded it hurts.

    1) State your opinion.

I had some guy try to mug me and I beat his ass as the police watched. When it was finally over they caught me exiting the area the wrong way down a one way street, and I was given a ticket. The guy bit me and everything it was special. That became infected and it hurt like hell. When I attempted to argue my case they stated that I shouldn't be in this neighborhood at night and was just inviting trouble, in fact by not cowering to the person I was challenging him, to which I replied I live right down the street. Luckily, I don't live on the east side of Naptown anymore. That was about ten years ago but it still feels like it was just yesterday. He reached inside and broke the turn signal on my girlfriends truck which is when I just flipped the hell out. Her family got very mad that I got into a prolonged boxing match in a big crowd of people. I had the weapon, I had the advantage, and I chose to make him eat a hundred punches instead of ending it. He bit my finger when I had him in a head lock using his forehead to batter her truck door, knocked the mirror off. Apparently this info really pisses off parents of your girlfriend as you try to get out of the bill.

These were my neighbors on my block. I grew up right behind them and my dad still lives there as does their family.

Of course the cop that was shot was a really nice guy so they tried to screw him out of his retirement. Welcome to the hood.
