Depending on your man curve somewhere between 22~26. 26 being a control deck 22 being more aggro. If anything I find 24 land is average in a 60 card deck and will do in just about every deck to start with.

I still think fetch lands are over rated. My main deck is all bi or tri colored lamd, most of it gives me life. Theyre just overpowered when using shocks or orginal duel lands. So in standard they are weak but in modern and legacy they kick ass.
